Description

RED is the color associated with the First Chakra, also known as the Root Chakra or Muladhara. This special bracelet, made with intention, helps support you on your journey as you navigate issues regarding self-preservation and your place in this world. Because its made out of memory wire, this unique bracelet--made with black lava aromatherapy and red-hued beads--will fit almost any wrist--no fasteners to deal with.

Simply add your chosen aromatherapy oil to the black lava beads via a dropper (or carefully drip from a bottle). Refresh as needed, usually every few days.

Aromatherapists often suggest the following essential oils for supporting the Root Chakra: Cedarwood (my favorite), Myrrh, Patchouli, Vetiver, Rosewood, Thyme, Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Spikenard, Benzoin and Oakmoss.

The Root Chakra is associated with the color red and its Sanskrit name is Muladhara. Its symbol is represented by a lotus of four petals. When we enter this physical life, we enter into a family. Even if one is an orphan, the individual enters some type of group structure. Groups are our earliest influences and include family, religion, school, ethnicity, politics and geographic location. Any time you feel pride at hearing your national anthem, or watching your country receive a gold medal at the Olympics, you are feeling the energy of your Root Chakra.

Likewise, when you feel like you don’t fit in within your “tribe” or group that is also a 1st chakra issue. We inherit beliefs from groups in the form of indoctrination. Thus, even the cultural climate that surrounds us affects our first chakra. If we are “plugged in” to a particular group, their beliefs, assumptions, and superstitions will affect us. That is why it’s important to examine the ingrained beliefs that were picked up from family, school, church, and "tribe" and whether or not we will examine, challenge, and ultimately shed those beliefs (if they no longer serve us and are limiting us.) This chakra governs the flow of power between the individual and groups.

The word chakra means wheel of light in the language of Sanskrit. The chakras are the body's internal energy centers, and are aligned vertically near the spine. Energy enters the body through the head (the heavens) and the base (the earth beneath). The seven chakras are vortex points where these forces mingle, with each producing a distinctive energy pattern. The purpose of the seven chakras is to absorb, transform, and distribute the body's internal energy, known by terms like prana, life force, or chi. Specific organs and body parts are associated with each chakra, as well as corresponding behavioral, emotional, and personality patterns. It's important to note that the chakras are in constant interplay, and can really only be separated intellectually.

The seven chakras are very much connected with physical, mental, and emotional development and health. In a healthy individual, all the chakras are balanced and energy flows freely and naturally through them. Similar to the principles of Feng Shui, energy can sometimes flow too strongly or too weakly, or be blocked entirely. If this happens in one or more chakras, there will be a corresponding distortion or disharmony, which affects patterns of health. Sometimes, chakras get "stuck" open or closed, and it's important to uncover the root of this state for energetic balance.
