With this easy pattern, you can make Monty the cheeky marmot, also known as groundhog, woodchuck or whistle pig.

Size of finished marmot made with worsted weight yarn: 5.5 inch / 14 cm high.

Materials
For this crochet marmot you’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need four or three colours of yarn, murky brown, 2/4 of a 100 yard skein (body), barley, 1/20 (belly) and left-over bits of light beige for the muzzle and eyebrows, acorn heather for the paws and ears but you can also make these in murky brown, and you need some dark embroidery yarn to outline the nose. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). Lopi colour numbers: 1420, 1419, 0086, and 0053.
