This copper cuff bracelet is custom made to order to fit your wrist. It is made though a combination of techniques including wire weaving, forging, hammering and filing. The copper has been oxidized and polished in multiple stages to bring out a broad range of warm colors, a high polish and rich blacks. I have protected the finish with Rennaissance Wax. I will include a small polishing pad to bring back the highlights occasionally.
The three thick copper support wires make this a sturdy bracelet, great for men or women. I have an even sturdier one of these in my shop with 4 support wires here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/662068774/healing-copper-unisex-cuff-bracelet
Please select the EXACT circumference of your wrist, and I will calculate the correct bracelet size for you. To help me mold this cuff to the correct shape, please select your body frame/build. You will be able to make the last minor adjustments to get your perfect fit.
I use pure copper, which is free of nickel, lead or any other pollutants that could trigger allergies or cause concern. Copper has been used as an anti-inflammatory agent dating back to the ancient Egyptians. Copper cuffs are often worn to ease the pain of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Copper oxides are necessary for many physiological processes, though taking copper internally can be harmful. A safe way to get more copper in your system is to absorb it through the skin. Topically, copper in studies has been shown to be anti-microbial and to reduce pain and inflammation, speed up wound healing time, increase skin elasticity and decrease wrinkles in the skin. An article on the National Institute of Health reviews a number of studies done on copper containing fabrics and their positive affects on skin health: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4556990/ There are also studies showing that copper containing gels may have anti-inflammatory benefits, but more studies need to be done.
Many people feel copper bands help lessen their pain. The direct contact with the skin allows copper oxides to be absorbed through the skin close to the area it is needed. I purposely do not coat the inside with renaissance wax in order to allow the inside to tarnish natural, creating the healing copper oxides. You may see a faint black residue on your skin eventually, which will wash off with soap and water, but this is actually the healing copper oxides. I recommend if you are wearing this for healing purposes, that you allow some of that to remain on your skin. Please note that a green tint developing on the skin can indicate an acidic body that may benefit from consuming more alkalizing foods and decreasing the things that cause acidity.
Your bracelet will be made after you order. Since wire weaving, forging the base wires and achieving the right patina and polish is very time consuming, I require three weeks to complete this bracelet and get it in the mail. It will be shipped from my non-smoking studio in scenic Union, WA with all of my love. I will include a cloth satchel for storage, a small polishing pad and a surprise gift.
