Description

Polaroid The Button SX-70 instant camera tested and with film option. This model, introduced in the early 1980s, is a gray version of the rainbow stripe camera that everyone recognizes. This camera does not have a built in flash; you will need to buy an electronic flash or a flash bar to be able to shoot indoors with this camera. This camera is in great condition with little wear.

This camera isn't as flashy looking as it's rainbow cousin, but it takes pictures just as sweet! And is much cheaper, too!

I have tested and cleaned this camera and it works well. Please see the test photo. When buying Polaroid film, be sure to buy the Polaroid SX-70 film in the red box and see my FAQ below. You can add a pack of fresh Polaroid film to this order for $18. Buy some extra packs or new tongue installation from my shop, too! (Contact me about that if interested!).

Please be sure to look at all the photos and contact me if you have any questions. I accept returns and cancellations-please see policies at the bottom of this listing for details.

Shipping: I want to be transparent in my pricing by keeping the shipping charges clearly separate from the cost of your item. I charge the lower corporate USPS rate, however these are still estimates. Any extra shipping over $1 I will refund to you. I do offer combined shipping and again, any extra amount you've paid over $1 I will refund to you.

Thank you!

My cameras and other photo-related items are most often used. I test the cameras before I list them, but I cannot guarantee them. As a result, everything I sell is sold "as-is." However, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about the camera you've purchased.

I pack these items carefully using plenty of bubble wrap, air bags, and crumpled newspaper. I get your order out in the mail within 3 business days of your order and will send you a message when I mail it out.

FAQs

If your camera is an "integral" camera (the photo ejects itself out), you can buy old and expired Polaroid film on ebay or other such sites. Expired film can be tricky but might also give you cool effects.

You can buy fresh film for your 600 and SX-70 camera from the BRAND NEW Polaroid site. POLAROID is back and they have a brand new formula with the best and sharpest colors yet of the newer generations. That is the film that will ship with your camera if you select a film option. You can also buy extra packs from CoxCameras!
Polaroid and Impossible Project film for the 600 and SX-70s cameras contain the battery that powers the exposure, flash, and motor to eject the photo. You never need to buy batteries for these cameras and if you buy fresh film, you always have fresh batteries!

(Be sure not to buy the Polaroid film in the yellow package. That has no battery and is only for their new cameras!).
Yes! First-do not shake it!

Second, once it ejects, put it in a dark place and keep it there for 45 minutes or so. The current formulas for this film require a good amount of time before it fully develops, so don't be alarmed if the photo is blue for several minutes.

If you're shooting in the sun, do what you can to prevent the sun from hitting the photo when it's been ejected-full sun shining on the photo will make a difference in the quality of the final image. After you take the shot, turn around so the sun is behind you or move the camera upside-down in front of you so that you can hold the photo with its front on your shirt as it ejects.

Lastly, read the paper that comes in the film pack. It's got all kinds of good info!
From the Polaroid website: "All Polaroid cameras we sell have a dark & light setting built on them. It’s either a wheel (SX-70, SLR 680) or a slider (600, Image/Spectra).

Impossible’s instant film is a newly developed material. The ASA is a bit higher than the original film and therefor, it is important to put the settings in the following:

Bright Sunlight:
Polaroid 600 - slide to 1/4 in the dark
Polaroid SX-70 - slide to 2/3 in the dark
Polaroid Image/Spectra - slide to 1/4 in the dark

Normal Daylight:
Polaroid 600 - middle
Polaroid SX-70 - slide to 1/3 in the dark
Polaroid Image/Spectra - middle

Shadow in Daylight:
Polaroid 600 - slide 1/4
Polaroid SX-70 - middle
Polaroid Image/Spectra - middle"
If this is a gift and you'd like it gift wrapped, let me know and we can work out the details. At the very least, let me know if you'd like me to enclose a packing slip that doesn't list the pricing.
