The cabochons are made of Russian Seraphinite and copper calcite. Seraphinite is said to be the go-to stone for healers and collectors because of its energies for spirit communication, healing, and spiritual enlightenment. Seraphinite is found in Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia, but there are Seraphinite deposits in the USA and Turkey. It can also be found in Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Calcite is formed by mineral-rich water that deposits the dissolved mineral on the walls of caverns and cliffs, forming a smooth growth. This greenish calcite has copper deposited during formation, with amazing spikes and waves of color. Double refraction is especially noted in Iceland Spar crystals. When I made this centerpiece I used a straight bezel around both cabochons. There is a glisten to the Seraphinite which sparkles in sun light; this is called chatoyancy. This piece also feels good to the touch and will be a family heirloom of wearable art. The metal used is sterling silver, highly polished and ultrasonically cleaned after I fabricated it. This is a gorgeous piece that commands attention. Sarah completed the necklace with varying values and hues of greens to compliment the centerpiece. The green stone beads include green zebra serpentine, Kambaba jasper, green line jasper, and Russian Seraphinite. The sterling silver patterned discs, and sterling spacer beads add sparkle. Also included are freshwater pearls, Czech glass, and Swarovski crystals. The hook and eye clasp is also sterling silver.
