A band saw reindeer is a pretty simple project that any woodworker can do, but I like to put my own spin on things. First of all, this little guy is made up of many small pieces of scrap wood recycled into a big block. It takes as long to make this block as it does to do all the rest of the work, but it keeps the wood from ending up in a landfill.
The head is turned 45 degrees from the body. I came up with a special technique for doing this that you won't see in any other reindeer. Being at an angle and in combination with the small pieces of wood that he is made from creates a neat diamond pattern in his head.

The reindeer measures 9 inches tall. This listing is for a mix of many different species of wood. Keep in mind the pattern is random so each reindeer has a different look and will be different from what you see in the picture. Species of wood used include mainly walnut, cherry, maple, red and white oak, and hickory.

Just a beautiful design. The reindeer was well packaged and shipped quickly. This has easily earned its spot on our table with our other Christmas decorations, and probably for the rest of the year as well.

Shipped quickly and matched the jewelry box I already have perfectly. I was worried it would look like different wood, but it matches really well and you can't tell that I bought the drawer after I had already had the box for awhile. I love that this is an option, it makes it so much easier to add on to the box you already have.
