Shea butter is a skin superfood that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea tree, which is naturally rich in vitamins A, E, K, and F, which are great for scar healing. It offers a small amount of UV protection and provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. It is often used to remedy dry skin and to help protect the skin’s natural oils. Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. Shea butter also promotes skin cell renewal and aids in skin lightening.

Mango butter is higher in fatty acids than most other natural butters, making it a particularly effective moisturizer and emollient. The unsaturated oleic and linoleic acids means that it is absorbed easily and quickly into your skin, while the saturated stearic and palmitic acids provide a protective seal to hold in the moisture. As a result, skin feels soft and supple from the first application. Due to the tannins that mango butter contains, it has natural anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. This means that it can offer real benefits to people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis- soothing the skin, reducing irritation, and helping it to repair. It can also be used on extremely sensitive skin, as it is unlikely to cause irritation.

Sweet almond oil is full of vitamin E, vitamin A, monosaturated fatty acids, protein, potassium, and zinc. Vitamin E is an extremely powerful antioxidant. Oxidative stress (A.K.A. when your body doesn’t have enough antioxidants to fight free radicals) is a major cause of the deterioration of your skin’s collagen layer. Since collagen keeps your skin looking supple and wrinkle-free, you want to stave off oxidative stress with antioxidants. That’s where sweet almond oil comes in. Thanks to the Vitamin E, sweet almond oil keeps your skin cells healthy, protects your skin from UV radiation damage, and helps your skin look smooth, soft, and free of fine lines. The fatty acids help your skin retain moisture and can heal chapped and irritated skin.

Argan oil contains vitamin E to help fade scars. It is highly moisturizing and helps to reduce acne, and can help with eczema.

Frankincense protects skin at the cellular level and therefore makes it an excellent candidate for all your beauty needs. It can improve skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and large pores, and fade scars and stretch marks. Frankincense has the ability to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, defense mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes, and appearance as someone ages. It may help tone and lift skin, reduce the appearance of scars and acne, and heals wounds. It may also be beneficial for fading of stretch marks, surgery scars or marks associated with pregnancy, and for healing dry or cracked skin.

Niaouli essential oil from Madagascar comes from a relative of Tea Tree. It has a sweeter yet more antiseptic fragrance, and can be used in addition to or in place of Tea Tree, with less tendency to irritate the skin. Niaouli oil can be used to help treat oily, dull or acne-prone skin. Niaouli Oil can be used to treat scars and superficial wounds quite well. The natural antibacterial and antiseptic qualities of Niaouli oil will keep the skin infection free and prevent any new bacteria from growing in the region. The oil also speeds up your skin’s ability to naturally replace and regenerate new skin cells – which means that the wound will heal faster and eventually fade away with continued use.

Lemon oil is a good remedy for restoring the luster of dull skin. It is an astringent and detoxifying in nature and rejuvenates sagging or tired-looking skin. Its antiseptic properties help in treating pimples and various other skin disorders. Lemon is also recommended for reducing excessive oil on the skin. The high amounts of vitamin C in this essential oil work to diminish the appearance of scars, tighten skin, improve skin tone, eliminate impurities and regenerate new skin cells.

Green Tea Extract - Research has established that topical application of green tea extracts have many benefits for skin, including anti-aging properties. The polyphenols in green tea possess potent antioxidant and skin-soothing properties, and show significant promise for improving the appearance of sun-damaged skin. Naturally active green tea extracts penetrate deep into the layers of the skin, soothing the irritation and reducing redness. This reduces further disturbance of the scar through scratching, which together result in smoother, more comfortable, less visible scars. Green tea extracts have been scientifically proven to assist the healing process and support the way scars form; making them less likely to be thickened, red, irritated and uncomfortable.

Mallow Extract - Mallow was cherished by the Ancient Romans for it's soothing and protecting properties to dry and sensitive skin. It is commonly used in skincare preparations to reduce inflammation. Safe for sensitive skin. Marshmallow root’s botanical name, althaea officinalis, means ‘to heal'. The extract is an anti-inflammatory with high levels of vitamin D that increases the natural antioxidants in the skin, while clinical studies have shown that the botanical hyaluronic acid from the marshmallow plant helps wounds heal more quickly, and can reduce the appearance of both old and new scars.

Beeswax provides a protective layer without clogging pores the way petroleum based products can. It is a humectant, meaning it draws water to it, keeping your skin hydrated.

FAQs

Custom candles or skincare can be created for you, no matter how big or small of an order you'd like to place! Simply send me a message and I will send you all the information you'll need to get started.
Trim wicks to 1/4" every time before lighting.
Soy candles can "sweat", where small amounts of fragrance oil will bead up on the surface of the candle before the top layer of wax has fully melted. This should not interfere with the candle's ability to burn.
Mini candles should not burn more than 2 hours at a time.
All other candles should burn no more than 4-6 hours at a time.
Never leave a candle unattended or near flammable items.
I try to keep all of my measurements exactly the same, and I work in small batches to ensure you have a fresh candle or soap and that I don't have stock backed up for months. However, naturally there will be minor differences in how potent the dye happens to be, so sometimes the candles will be a shade off. However, I try to match as best as I can every time! With glitter, sometimes companies cease to exist and I have to find new sources, so from time to time, glitter consistency, amount, or color may be slightly different than a previous batch. With fragrance, there can be seasonal or discontinued scents, but again, I try and match as best as I possibly can!
Nope! A natural reaction to the wax cooling quickly, it simply hasn't adhered fully to the glass. This has no effect on the candle's performance.

Be sure that when you light your candles, you plan on leaving them lit for about two hours so that there is an even "melt pool" of wax across the entire surface. This reduces the chance of "tunneling", where the candle isn't burning evenly around the outside and tunnels down into the candle without burning all the wax.
No, don't worry! It's a natural reaction to the humectants in soap. Humectants draw moisture from the air, so the more humid the environment, the higher chance you'll see this happening. I could use high-humidity bases for my soaps, but I try and be as chemical-free as possible, and I've yet to find a good organic substitute for my current products. It does not affect the quality of the soap at all, and disappears after using it.
Lotion bars are a very moisturizing body lotion in solid form. They look like a bar of soap but are used on dry skin. They typically have very few ingredients, including a raw, organic butter (shea, mango, avocado, etc), a virgin, unrefined, cold-pressed oil (sweet almond, coconut, argan, etc), organic beeswax pellets, and essential or fragrance oils. I also use nutrient-rich extracts for added skin benefits!
