Description

In the darkening night
Will you play your chances at naughty or nice?
Perhaps your sugar is truly all spice.

Sense Notes:
Sweet | Smoky | Spiced | Earthy

This tea is all the richness and darkness of the woods in winter with the warming addition of spices to captivate your senses. Similar to a masala chai, but without the tea or complement of ingredients, this is a long simmering brew that will warm you and bring a decadent aroma to your living space. Named after Krampusnacht, a German folkloric festival full of mischief and revelry, this blend is playful and dark and can be made a bit spicier and more wicked if you so choose.

I would recommend simmering 1/4 cup of the blend with 2 cups of water for 20 minutes-but play around with it! You may find you prefer less or more depending on your taste. If you wanted an additional kick, add a tablespoon of chopped fresh ginger to the simmer.

Ingredients:
Hawthorne berries*, burdock root*, hickory bark†, peppercorn*, cardamom*, cinnamon*, dandelion root*, and fennel*.

†wildcrafted | *organic

This was truly so much more extravagant and special than I expected. The packaging was beautiful, including a calligraphed poem, a wax seal and pine needles on the bottle, plus she came up with a creative name for this custom blend, none of which I expected. The bitters themselves are intensely bitter with hints of evergreen and smoke. They give me the image of drinking an ice cold martini while sitting in front of a roaring fire. These were a gift for my husband, who was very impressed, and has been adding them to all sorts of drinks. It's clear that Ashley is passionate about what she does and goes above and beyond not only in the creativity with her products but the packaging and the whole interaction. I wish her much success and hope to be a repeat customer!
