Description

This rich green necklace features a centerpiece cabochon of India moss agate, paired with a smaller cabochon of Peruvian pale pink Mangano calcite, both set in sterling silver. There is an underlying theme of leaves, which goes well with the greens of the necklace. The moss agate has darker inclusions that resemble trees, plants, or landscapes on a more transparent Chalcedony background. It can also be found in Russia and the United States, and is a very hard stone that takes a high polish. I set the stones onto a 24 gauge sterling silver background, with a smooth sterling silver bezel. To add to the leaf theme, I created a sterling silver leaf to wrap over the front of the moss agate. The hanger is sterling half round coiled with a large opening to enable Sarah to run the beads through. She used a variety of green and white beads to pull out the colors of the green moss agate and the pale white-pink Mangano. These beads include Bloodstone, green agate, carved moss agate leaves and melon shapes, cultured pearls, and Czech glass. There are multiple sterling silver spacers, bi-cone, and larger flower shaped sterling accent beads to add to the sparkle of the necklace. The elaborate sterling clasp is a hook and eye style, to assist in ease of application. This necklace is 21 inches in length, and the centerpiece pendant is 3 inches long, by 1 1/4 inches wide. This is sure to become a family treasure!
