Yarn is handspun, 100% natural Jacob wool; shorn and spun by me from a member of my own flock of Jacob sheep! Jacobs have a multi-colored black/grey/white fleece, which when carefully carded yields a fascinating naturally variegated yarn that works into a beautiful serendipitous tweedy pattern.

This is a balanced mid-weight yarn, two-ply. As can be expected in any homespun, the thickness varies a bit, with approx. 40 yards per ounce. The fiber is a medium wool. (In plain English, most people could comfortably wear it; but it's not recommended for long underwear!)

Included here is two skeins, wound into center-pull balls. Weight is over 5.3 ounces, for a total over 200 yards.

I breed the sheep; I feed the sheep; I shear the sheep; I clean the wool; I spin and ply the yarn at home on my Schacht matchless wheel.

Please feel free to convo me if you need a larger quantity.
