Entirely intuitive, I let my hand make the marks, moving where it wants to go across the page. I never plan these meditations ahead of time, and as the name implies, they are entirely about being in the moment and about the joy of drawing. Winter is a time of reflection, and these pieces are quiet and spare...pared down to their essentials.

In Winter Meditation no.13 three white circles accented with crisp pencil line float in the space...looking as if they are trying to align themselves...are they? These circles are delicately balanced by a small mass of random overlapping stitches in pale colors of white, gold and beige. The initial drawing of white acrylic marker and pencil on Japanese paper was dipped in beeswax, which imparts and lovely texture, color and makes the paper transluscent. This drawing is attached to a larger sheet of handmade paper for support through the tiny overlapping stitches in the lower left, a small "x" in the lower right and two pearl beads on the upper corners. aroun

This piece measures 7 x 5" (actual artwork measures 5"h x 3"w) and will come to you carefully packaged, ready to frame or display as you desire.

Thank you so much for browsing MissouriBendStudio...enjoy!
