OKAKURA KAKUZO
Second Edition 1957 with original SLIPCASE!

Originally published in 1906.
This is the highly coveted Tuttle edition... first printed in September 1956, this is the second edition from March 1957. Charles Tuttle Publishing continued to re-release the book throughout the 20th century, but early editions are hard to find in good shape!

The slipcase shows a little wear along the top and a water stain on the back. The spine of the volume also shows a some wear as that is the portion exposed even when in the case. The case is still very sturdy and sound!

There is some discoloration on the title label on the cover of the book itself and page yellowing as would be typical of a over 50 years old.

The paper quality is extraordinary. The colors are hand-painted and still very vibrant! The paper itself seems to be a hand-made cold-pressed stock. Even the pages have a beautiful weight and texture to them.

I have more photos of the inside and would be happy to email them if requested.

Book will be shipped U.S. Priority Express and insured.
