Normally, I make jokes and generally act like an idiot in these descriptions. But I will not here. What I've got up for sale here is a genuine Regulation Army Officer's Jacket. The inside pocket tag says, "Jackets, Field, Wool, O.D. Officer's". I assume the O.D. means "outdoors" [EDIT: I've been informed by an intrepid Etsyer that it stands for "Olive Drab"]. The inside pocket tag also says that the Pattern Date was 3/5/45 and that the purchase order for it April 23rd, 1945.

I am unsure if this is a WWII jacket or a Korean War jacket. I am going to say World War II, as it did not end until September of 1945 and I'm sure the troops still had some things to do after that. Also, I just watched "Patton" again recently, and some of the guys in that movie wore this style jacket. The jacket is made of wool and has no patches or medals of any kind on it. I believe that it did have patches on it at some point, because there is a little thread remaining on the left sleeve that is easily removable. The condition of this jacket is excellent. It's almost hard to believe that it's 65+ years old.

Anyway: enjoy!
