Little Primitive Wren Clay Bird Figurine, Hand Sculpted and Painted Small Artisan Migratory Song Bird

I hand formed and painted this sweet little Carolina Wren which will make a perfect gift for any bird lover! Sculpted in polymer clay, I then painted him in artist grade acrylic paint, as well as rubbed gold and copper metallic gilders paste in areas of his wings, body and tail. He has textures on his surface so that when dry brushed and rubbed with the colours, it gives him lots of depth and interest. The little wren is in a primitive, semi abstract, decorative style, and the handling of the paint gives him a very artisan feel. This little song bird is a one of a kind piece, as no 2 birds I create ever will be the same. I love the wrens' and they are often very quick and very difficult to photograph! This guy is chubby and cute, and says "wren" especially with his up in the air tail, though I have kept his beak a little shorter so that it is thicker and more durable in clay. He is sealed in a non yellow, satin finish clear coat especially formulated for polymers.

*I know that this is just redundant, but I need to mention that sorry, my found pieces of marble I display her on are not part of the purchase. These were picked up by me at the shores of Lake Ontario, and work so well for showing off my clay birds!

You receive the Exact bird pictured here. I only sculpt each bird I make by hand, then list that finished piece. I can make to order, but the next one will never be exactly the same.

SIZE: The Caroline Wren figurine is 2" long from end to end, and 1 1/4" high and 1" wide, so is a small but chunky sculpture, and weighs a few ounces, so is not heavy at all.

Alert: I probably don't need to say this, but the wren is not a toy and should be displayed out of reach of children.

Care: Wipe gently and infrequently, as needed with a slightly damp corner of a cloth, use No cleaning solutions as finish may eventually wear if you do.
