"OSCAR" OWL - Designed for kids with life-threatening health conditions who need to keep medicine with them at all times. Great for Asthma Supplies, Epinephrine Auto-Injectors, Diastat®, Diabetic Supplies and more.

OUR STORY

Ever since I was a child, my father has done wildlife rescue and over the years rehabilitated many owls. My favorite was one we named Oscar. As the parent of children with life threatening food allergies, owls took on a different significance. Our children, like owls, have to be on constant guard, wise, observant and controlled. They have to always be watching and asking questions... Whooo is eating my allergens? What is safe for me? At any rate, I was inspired by my children and my love of owls to design this little "Oscar" owl case for kids like mine. Oscar was featured in Allergic Living's Holiday Gift Guide for two years and has been a favorite ever since.

Please note, the paisley fabric for the teal owl has been discontinued so, I am no longer to make them, however, I do have a similar fabric and have included a picture of an owl with that fabric in the last phone.

SIZING

If you look through the pictures, there are images with various types of medicine to give you an idea of what this case will hold. For example, this case will hold two EpiPen® or AUVI-Q® epinephrine injectors, two single dose antihistamine pods and an inhaler or a single Diastat® in it’s case or possibly Diabetic supplies. It measures approximately 4.5" x 8.5" finished. If you love the design but, need a larger case, please use this listing: www.etsy.com/lovebugsco/listing/179705112/owl-medicine-pack-epi-pen-case-diastat

MATERIALS

This case comes fully lined and quilted with every seam reinforced to stand up to rough and tumble kids. It is insulated with Polyester Thermolam Quilting (a synthetic fleece insulating material). Every case is constructed with 4 layers of materials and insulation. See below for the option to add an additional layer of reflective insulation. For comfort, the case comes with a thin, but durable, double layer, grosgrain ribbon strap or loop. The strap can be adjusted through the set of D-Rings on the strap. In addition to the embroidered medical alert symbol on the front, the case also comes with an Alert Wear tag with the stop sign logo on the side. You can add a name and alert words to the case as well. Please see the listing below to add this option. To ensure the best possible fit for your child, please include your child's age and height in the comments if ordering with a strap.
