I made this book from the best materials available to satisfy artists that want most from their art journals, and want to create lasting and high quality images for it.

The book's pages are therefore made with the best watercolor paper I know: Saunders Waterford mouldmade watercolor paper, 300g/sm or 140lb, 100% from rags. The sheets bear a watermark for authenticity and have true deckle edges on the front edge of the book, tear deckle edges on the head and tail. It is archival, and due to the sole use of long fibered rags superb for all aquarella techniques including wet-in-wet, as well as all other wet media (including ink and markers).

They are bound in an ancient, so called Greek Binding style, and between full leather covers. The leather is goat skin, finished for bookbinding. It is easy to take care of: A little moisture won't harm it, you can always wipe away spots with a moist cloth, and apply other leather care products that you would also use on your furniture or clothing.
The binding style makes the spine of the book thicker than the front edge which allows you to glue some pages into the book if you like to create collages.

The front cover shows a sun, on the back cover a moon with stars as an embossed design, worked into the leather. You could also turn it around to have the moon on the front, and the sun on the back. Or you could use it from both sides, one for the bright moods, and one for the darker moods (which would make it a tête-bêche).

The decorative endpapers are made from a Italian patterned paper, "Blue China" is the name of this traditional pattern.

The paper for the sheets are torn by hand, and the book has a little irregular edge on the head and tail of the book.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!
