Original H. Marshall Gardiner black & white post card,
divided back, unused, mint condition. Circa 1920's.

This is one of many H.Marshall Gardiner scenes of a Nantucket beach. Somewhere on the south shore where a sandy road ends at the ocean. It could be Surfside, Cisco or Madaket.

Most of Gardiners post card views were taken on glass plate negatives. We are fortunate that he was willing and able to transport and set up this bulky equipment in the field, giving us many unique views of the islands beaches, moors and ponds, as well as the village of ‘Sconset.
