Please be aware that even a perfectly dried wood slab still behaves like a live organism, "breathing" in and out moisture depending on your home’s indoor setting. If the environment is too dry, the tabletop may produce small cracks. These are normal processes that slabs go through since they are natural products and it is important that you are aware of these realities. As a means of prevention, it is highly-recommended to use oil-based wood care products to moisturize the wood. Truth is, small cracks add more character to your tabletop and gives it its unique, rustic value.

ABOUT MACASSAR EBONY WOOD

Mostly available in the tropics, Macassar Ebony is a luxurious, exotic wood with heartwood that is known for its color, hardness, durability, ability to take polishing, and heavyweight aspect. Characterized by its dramatic striped appearance, grain that is usually straight (but can sometimes be interlocked), fine uniform texture and excellent natural luster, Macassar is commonly used for upscale tables, high-end cabinetry and inlaying, billiard cues, musical instruments (piano keys), and other small specialty turned items.

This specialty wood is named after the Indonesian port-city, Makassar.

If you are looking on Etsy for unique wood and wood pieces look no further. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Leo. When you purchase from Leo he will be open to your ideas, honest about cost-timing-shipping, and will make your experience fantastic. He really takes the time to make sure you get what you want. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This photo is not of my complete table (missing legs and a better angle), and I wish I could post multiple pictures, to show how incredible Leo’s work is. Found him on Etsy but went to his shop on our honeymoon to make our purchase. We walked around the lumber yard with Leo, as he explained the process. We hand picked a slab &legs to go with it. We had a say in how it would be cut/size and resin color(for the gaps). Since we aren’t from Thailand,Leo sent us photos of his progress. He was extremely friendly and helpful! when it came time to shipment and customs, Leo helped and provided advice until a customs agent was assigned to help. It was a lot easier than I thought! My husband and I had an amazing time working with Leo, We would HIGHLY recommend him! Our complete table is 10ftX5ft, & 5” thick solid wood. Our forever table!

My wife and I were looking for a live edge table, here where I live, there is a very limited amount of furniture stores and even less availability for live edge anything.
So off I went to the internet and found Leo on etsy. We told him exactly why we wanted and he delivered it, to the T. We just received our custom Acacia wood table today and couldn't be happier. Shipping was a little confusing because we have never imported anything.g but in the end..... We would do it all over again. 5 stars all say!! Thanks Leo!

We love our live Edge Acacia coffee table. Leo did a wonderful job with helping us pick out the right piece for our home and purpose, he also supplied pictures along the way. I recommend Leo's work, with out having to travel outside the country, we were confident in our choice to go with this seller. Many thanks, Leo!
