—Why our maps are different—
There are many wonderful and beautiful maps out there, but our maps are unique. Everything is done by hand so that the final product feels like it was pulled right out of history and into your lap. Our maps can be framed and used as beautiful decorations, or kept on the coffee table or mantle as an interactive talking piece. You can mount them on wood, leather, metal, or anything your heart desires to create an epic monument to the stories you love. You will love the excitement on your players’ faces if you bring them to your next tabletop game night and use them as realistic game pieces on your next adventure. Or give them to your favorite nerd or map lover as the perfect gift for any occasion. If you are having a hard time deciding what to give to someone in your life that loves books, movies, games, or adventures, these maps are your perfect solution. They are more than just pretty posters, they are plucked straight from the stories and delivered into your hands.
Let me take you on a little journey on how this map was made:
Step one: Drawing
Many of the maps made these days are done on the computer, either using a drawing app or a program to digitize an already drawn map. Although these maps are beautiful, for me they have always lacked something. That is why every single map we have was drawn by hand with pen on paper, to add the human element that gives authenticity to the map. Since we are doing it all by hand we spend hours making sure every part of the map is accurate to the source and that the font fits the tone of the story (I know what you are thinking, and yes, every letter is handwritten as well). We have even compiled smaller maps in a series to create an accurate depiction of the overall world, a process that allows us to dig deeper into these wonderful stories. Doing things by hand and from the source material takes longer, but the end result cannot be matched.
Step two: Printing
Once we have our hand drawn map complete, we take a high resolution scan to preserve its details. This is the only time a computer is involved in our process as we ensure that the scan is a faithful reproduction of our original, then we send it off to our high quality photo printer. We have spent countless hours searching for the perfect paper; this search led us to a 80# cover paper with a felt blend (the felt and thickness gives the feel of ancient parchment that was hand pressed). Once printed, the maps are then hand trimmed and ready for finishing.
Step three: Finishing
We could have the printer simply print the maps in color with a stained/aged color and call it good, but I think you get by now that we go the extra mile. We dilute walnut crystal ink and stain each map individually and hang them to dry. The walnut ink is non-acidic which means the map will last generations. Depending on the finish you choose, we will age or fray the edges. No two maps will look exactly the same because each one takes the stain differently and each is worn separately. We carefully wrap each map by hand to ship them to you ready for their next adventure! Since we are doing all of this by hand we can make adjustments or changes depending on what you may want. We have even been known to place a wax seal on the package to enhance the overall opening experience for you or your bibliophile loved one. If you have read this far, feel free to ask for a wax seal on your package and I will happily oblige :)
Our maps are ready for adventure, all you need to ask yourself is - are you?

Great product & customer service, they were very responsive and customized the map even though I was pretty high maintenance
Very well-crafted map. Beautiful detailing. Husband and I are both big fans of the books and this was his favorite Christmas gift!
Nicely made map with good attention to detail on quality paper. Bought as a gift but am going to purchase one for myself now.
Got lost in the mail! But not the sellers fault. They communicated with me and even offered to send a replacement.
