Wilde Wool ..... Dyed - Romney Felting Wool---EXCELLENT WOOL FOR FAIRIES or ANIMALS!
Top quality Romney wool in vibrant colors and earthy shades. Many of the shades look like they are naturally dyed. Compared to our Corridale roving, the Romney is a tiny bit coarser and has a little longer staple fiber. It does have that same gorgeous, natural luster.
Wilde Wool is perfect for: FAST wet or dry needle felting. Easy to hand spin, very strong and hard wearing. Perfect for making those little critters, because of the natural looking shades. Works wonderful in Fiber Painting.

30 microns
4"- 5" Staple length
Weight 1 ounce

PLEASE NOTE: The TAN and the FOREST FLOOR are Drysdale Romney with a 2"-3" staple

Imported Romney Wool from New Zealand
Produced in the United States since 1884

Wilde Wools, Inc is America's oldest woolen mill. Since the 1880's, the Wilde family has been producing high quality woolen fibers at their historic wool mill in Philadelphia, PA. The John Wilde & Brother, Inc wool mill was (and still is) the last standing wool mill of its’ kind in America. When the historic wool mill finally shut off its’ machines in 2009, Dan Fawley, the mill owner’s son and longtime employee, decided to take over a small aspect of the mill's operation.

Presently, The Mill/ Fiber Warehouse, is producing high quality carded wool. Their decades of experience in the wool fiber industry is evident in the beautiful, versatile fibers they produce.

Certified under the "Oeko-Tex Standard 100". This standard is the most widely known standard for certification of ecologically-safe clothing.

I got this wool to patch a pair of felted slippers with needle felting, and it worked out beautifully. The color matched almost exactly and the patches are barely visible. I've been spinning the rest on my drop spindle and its a beautiful rustic spin. Word to the wise, 'natural' doesn't apply just to the color, there is some vegetable matter in the fiber and it appears it's been through less processing overall than some other fibers. All in all, a beautiful wool that I can't wait to go home and use some more.

The roving is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to use it. Thank you for braiding the roving to keep it under control. One thing that I didn't know was how close in color Burnt Orange and Pumpkin are. I would not have ordered one of those colors and ordered another color for more variety.

I placed an order of 4 colors. maize, black, white, tan. they came in a timely manner. Most of the colors are great except white. very disappointed in how the white felts. it's more like individual strands of wool that I have to try desperately to bind together when I felt. this leaves a very spotty project with areas that I have to spend even more time felting just to try and fill in with the white. idk if I got the wrong type of wool but the white is just horrible. edit: I was shortly contacted by the seller who provided me with great customer service. I didnt think to contact them first and shouldve. I encourage anyone with any issues with their wool to do the same. just to be very clear the other wool is amazing! just the white wool was very poor quality for felting. update: the Corriedale wool is amazing!
