This orange illustrated Mississippi brooch - lapel pin or pendant was made with an upcycled piece of a 1960s UK Victory wood jigsaw puzzle map of the United States. The wearable history pin has images of the industry of the state scattered around it, and topped with a scroll in white with the state name in black text. The Victory Industrial Life in the United States puzzle was made by the GJ Hayter Company of Bournemouth, UK and the wood pieces were hand cut. This Mississippi wood brooch is a great idea for a timeless gift under $20.

This Mississippi brooch - lapel pin measures 1-1/2" by 7/8". It has a locking pin clasp on the back and has been given two coats of matte acrylic sealer to protect the surface.

You have the option to have this piece made into a pendant instead of a brooch (select your choice of a locking pin clasp or a jewelry pendant bail). There is no necklace chain included, and the jewelry piece is not waterproof (it has been sealed with an acrylic sealer to protect the vintage wood map piece, but is not waterproof).

This brooch - lapel pin is from my pet-free and smoke-free home and has not been worn.

Need a unique gift idea for a friend, colleague or loved one who is a US native? You undoubtedly have American-born friends, loved ones or colleagues who have roots in the US state they were born in, and they might really appreciate a unique & affordable gift that is a piece of wearable history. If you are a politician, you represent a certain state in the halls of Congress or the state Legislature, and you would stand out from your colleagues with a wearable history lapel pin of your state! I have hundreds of US State brooches/lapel pins available - all are upcycled wood puzzle pieces from 1887 through the 1970s era. If you go to the link for my shop www.Etsy.com/shop/ME2Designs and then in the search bar at top that is titled "This Shop", type in a state name, everything I have available for that state will appear in the search results.
