this unique pendant is made from an authentic and circulated telephone token from 1914.

telephone tokens were used in pay phones during the first half of the 20th century as an alternative to pocket change. harry goetz's coins were some of the most popular used since their divots, ridges, and weird shaped indentations in the coins made them almost impossible to clone (people couldn't avoid paying for a call by putting slugs/metal washers into the phones instead).

this coin is awesome! what a weird shape.. pictures will explain better than my words - check out the photos for details on this piece. the diameter of the coin is 7/8" - about the size of a nickel.

the necklace comes on a vintage brass 24" curb chain with a lobster clasp. any other length of your choosing is possible, just specify in the notes box when purchasing.

i have a handful of these telephone tokens-turned-necklaces. check out our shop for other token necklaces as well as my coin necklaces made from early 1900's coal scrip!

ABOUT US: we try to pick the most unique and interesting coins possible, and due to the circulation, i can say that all pieces are pretty much one of a kind. we lovingly drill each piece out, and build our own chains, so any length is possible! and YES we ship internationally! we ship via US Parcel Post which includes delivery confirmation. we're also happy to fancy up the packaging if this is a gift. get in touch!

please email with any questions, and see other coin necklaces for sale in our shop!
