Beautifully detailed double-page engraving of fiber crop plants.

The print shows: 1. Cannabis sativa, 2. Hibiscus cannabinus - Kenaf or Deccan Hemp, 4. Boehmeria enacissima - Green Ramie, 5. Agave americana - Maguey or American Aloe, 6. Attalea funifera - Piassava Palm, 7. Phormium tenax - New Zealand Flax, 8. Gossypium herbaceum - Levant Cotton, 9. Linum usitatissimum -- Flax or Linseed.

The size of the print: 12" x 9,6" (30,5 x 24,5 cm) including its border.
Printed in 1897, Bibliographisches Institut Leipzig Germany, as an illustration for the 5th edition of "Meyers' Konversations Lexikon".

The print is in good condition, the paper shows its age with creamy patina, perfect for framing.

Concerning the age of the paper - cca. 120 years - some spots can be occured on the margin, but these do not effect the quality of the print itself as it can be seen on the scan.

Please note, that by antique prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
