Description

Skin nourishing moisture for both men and women. Use as a facial moisturizer, after shave balm or all over the body as you wish.
Moisturizer recipes can vary with many choices of therapeutic oils and butters. Shea and Coconut Fluff Face and Body Moisturizer utilizes two basic ingredients for intensive skin care: shea butter and coconut oil. No added water!

Whipped to achieve a fluffy, non-greasy consistency, this combination is a suburb moisturizer for both face and body. A soothing aid for irritating skin conditions or razor burn, Shea and Coconut Fluff helps moisturize and heal.

Shea butter comes from karite nut trees found in Africa. Some call shea butter African cocoa butter. These nuts are crushed and boiled to extract the sought after fat.
It is a heavy butter, but once it penetrates the skin this method of skin care is very therapeutic for healing and moisturizing dry, sensitive skin and even helps fade those fine lines.

Coconut oil is found inside coconut shells. To extract this oil the coconut meat is crushed and heated in boiling water. The floating oil is then skimmed off and collected. Coconut oil melts above temperatures of 76 degrees, therefore this body butter will soften if exposed to heat.
Known for its ability to help skin retain moisture, this wonderful hydrator is often used for bothersome dry skin and as a hair conditioner.

Note: If you are allergic to coconut oil or just prefer shea butter, this fluff can easily be made with just shea butter and leave out the coconut oil. Just let me know.

Essential oils chosen for this silky butter are patchouli and lavender.
If you prefer another scent or none at all, please let me know.

Patchouli has a powerful action on our psyche and brings a sense of sacredness of life. Its earthy smell can act almost like a warm blanket for anxiety. As a perfume it can cling to clothes for extended periods of time. Adding to its multiple uses patchouli is also turned to for use with irritated skin conditions and wound care. Its skin rejuvenating properties help mature skin maintain its suppleness, therefore is often seen in moisturizing creams.

Lavender is one of those herbs most of us have experienced. Used in perfumery, cosmetics, burns and skin conditions, insect repellent, emotional anxiety, this plant is one of the most effective oils in natural cosmetics.
Lavender's sweet yet woodsy scent goes well with many oil blends and actually strengthens their effects. Known as the protective love of Mother Earth, lavender is like a gentle snuggie to tuck us in when upset and burdened.

NOTE ABOUT SHEA BUTTER
Normally I use unrefined shea butter for the full therapeutic benefits. However, unrefined shea butter has a pleasant odor of its own but tends to mask the scent of added fragrances. To achieve a whiter look and to enable the aroma to be at its best I'll use refined shea butter for the body butter fluffs. The refined has been refined specifically to eliminate the scent; this is done by filtration through activated charcoal and diatomaceous earth. This should not effect the nutrients in the oil. If you want the unrefined please let me know.

Shea butter can be very touchy with temperature fluctuations, resulting in a chemical change which makes it feel a bit gritty. Very frustrating is when it arrives like that from the supplier. Should this be the case with your order, keep in mind that upon application to the heat of your skin that feeling will disappear shortly.

NOTE ABOUT COCONUT OIL:
Ordinarily, in the making of my creams, I use refined coconut oil for the reason that not everyone enjoys the smell of coconuts. To avoid the smell of coconuts interfering with the final scent of the product (either the scent-free cream or the essential oil blends), I use the refined coconut oil unless by request to use the unrefined. Below is a bit of information to explain the differences between the refined vs. unrefined.
The differences between refined and unrefined coconut oils used for my products are in how the oil is processed.
Both the refined and unrefined coconut oils have been expeller, cold-pressed without the addition of any chemicals.
There are refined coconut oils on the market that use a chemical distillation process dependent on solvents such as lye. These products may be hydrogenated using high heat which should be avoided as they create synthetic trans-fats. The refined coconut oil I use are refined using a natural, chemical-free cleaning process involving steam and/or diatomaceous earth. The cold pressed extraction method yields an oil of higher nutritional value than extraction methods that use chemicals or heat.
The smell of coconuts in the refined coconut oil is removed by heat, but the temperatures do not go over 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Some antioxidants are destroyed but some can actually increase.
Antioxidants must still be present and not destroyed through processing in order for coconut oil to fight free radical damage.
As to whether coconut oil is comedogenic, meaning it clogs pores, depends on a person’s skin type, pore size, and the quality of the oil itself. Overall, good quality coconut oil can be wonderful in skin care.
Creams made with the unrefined coconut oil do have a noticeable scent of coconut, however it is pleasant and not at all overwhelming.

NOTE:
If you need an alternative to either the shea butter or the coconut oil, mango butter is a wonderful substitution. It doesn't smell like mangos, absorbs easily and is an excellent moisturizer. Just let me know if you need a substitution

Shea and Coconut Fluff Face n' Body Moisturizer comes in a 4 oz. or 8 oz. plastic jar.

There are two other body butter fluff options as well:
This one contains sweet orange and cardamom essential oils

Please review the ingredient list of the product before purchasing and be aware of known allergies. Immune systems function differently so there is always the risk of a sensitivity even with natural ingredients. The preservatives used are an antimicrobial called grapefruit seed extract, the antioxidant Vit. E and the concentration of essential oils. These are a non-synthetic, natural means of extending shelf life but are not the broad spectrum preservatives found on the commercial market. Being the risk of contamination is always present in any perishable product please try to use the item within 6 months or keep in the refrigerator.

Shipping policies

Packages are carefully wrapped to ensure it reaches its destination safely.
If the package weighs 13 oz. or less it will ship by USPS First Class Mail. If it is something perishable such as creams or body butters during the heat of the summer I'll send it Priority Mail. If the package is over 13 oz. it will automatically need to be sent Priority Mail.
Packages that ship Priority Mail are automatically insured up to a value of $50.

I live on the east coast, therefore depending on to what zone the package is to be sent will determine the actual shipping costs. Shipping costs for Priority Mail varies greatly as a package travels further across the country. Should the package need not travel as far the actual shipping will of course be less, therefore the buyer will receive a refund on the shipping costs charged at the time of purchase.

For buyers with multiple items, if they end up overpaying on the totaled shipping costs compared to the actual shipping costs, I will reimburse minus the packaging costs.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:

Should a buyer choose the Other option as payment please be aware that I cannot accept personal checks. There may be problems with a check drawn on a non-US bank in a foreign currency. In fact, I'm not sure our banks will accept the payment. Payment needs to be as an International Postal Money Order in USD.

Contents of the order are itemized on the custom forms which is the requirement of the seller. Customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Each country has different limits and it is up to the buyer to educate himself/herself on that particular country's fees. Custom fees are often based on the dollar value. Businesses are not allowed to mark an order as a gift, it is marked as merchandise.
Below is a helpful resource for finding out how much you may have to pay in fees:
http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/
Due to restrictions on Bath and Beauty products we do not ship to Mexico

Please be patient with the shipping times for international orders. The minimum shipping time is about two weeks, but depending on location it could be a month or longer till the package arrives at the buyers address.
