I call this one the Carolina Blue One, as opposed to the "Pink One" on a separate listing. It's a roughly 72 inch long x 14 inch wide Habotai/Chink silk scarf. That means it's as light as a feather, silky smooth and still quite warming when worn. With the colors it has a kind of shimmer as well.

It's hand dyed with the pattern created in shibori – I was "playing" with one basic pattern to see what variations I could come up with in these colors. One also never knows quite how things are going to turn out with hand "dipping" in indigo (espcially with another color). It's always magical to see the results.

From the photos, dear reader, you can see that this scarf was on exhibit this past fall. Apparently, they did add some sparkle and cheer to the gallery and folks passing through. If they did that, then that in itself was an achievement.

While they were fun to gaze on, these scarves were meant to be worn, in fact, I always feel that they don't really come to life until they are worn. They are meant to bring comfort, embellishment and joy to the wearer.

Care: If it's needed – treat as a delicate (even though silk is a strong fiber) – rinse first in cold or mildly warm water to see if the soiled area will lift or use a mild soap. Line dry then press on a silk setting.

I came across this listing and requested a custom indigo overdye of some pale blue chinos I had... I was hoping for a hybrid between chinos/khakis and jeans. What I received was nothing short of amazing. Customer service and communication with the seller was amazing. The price and service rendered is beyond fair and the return shipping was very fast and nicely packaged. But most importantly the final product looks exactly how I imagined a custom, hand-dyed pair of pants would look, with slight color variations near seams and contrasting stitching and buttons where the dye didn't penetrate as well, lending a very rugged workwear and denim-like look. The blue color itself is amazing. I can't wait to hopefully get that indigo "fade" like jeans, and get more character with wear! HAPPY CUSTOMER.

The shirt is brilliant..better than the photograph. It is both conservative but eye catching (how can this be!) Thank you so much. Irene
