Description

This is a pretty vintage oil painting, on an artist’s board, of a German/Austrian young girl who is wearing traditional Bavarian attire. It is signed by H. Ullrich, in the lower right corner. There is something written on the back of the board that appears to be in the German language, but I cannot decipher it. The artwork is, primarily, painted in dark tones. The light-colored areas on the painting are parts of the girl’s hair and face, the flowers in her hand and on her hat, and the pink apron that she is wearing. Other light areas that are seen in the images (especially in front of the girl’s face) are the result of glare from the lighting.

The painting is 11 1/2 inches (wide) by 15 1/2 inches (high).

This work of art is in good condition, but its frame (which it does not fit perfectly into) is not in great condition. The actual artwork has no stains, tears, or paint chips. It is in a thin and light-weight wood frame that is covered with cream colored paint and has a gold painted trim. There are slight separations of the wood, on the corners of the frame. This is also a missing piece of wood trim, on the frame’s bottom left corner. (See image no. 5.) Although you can see that the height of the painting is shorter than the height of the opening of the frame, there does not appear to be any risk that the painting will fall out of he frame. It is well secured to the frame.
