Description

The Jerusalem Cross embroidered in black on a black lace Mantilla This veil was designed especially for the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. The softest Swiss dot lace is paired with an exquisite 5" scalloped lace trim.

The Jerusalem Cross, also known as Crusaders' cross, is an heraldic cross or Christian symbol consisting of a large Greek cross surrounded by four smaller Greek crosses, one in each quadrant. The simpler form of the cross is known as the "Crusaders' Cross", because it was on the papal banner given to the Crusaders by Pope Urban II for the First Crusade, and was a symbol of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. The four smaller crosses are said to symbolize either the four books of the Gospel or the four directions in which the Word of Christ spread from Jerusalem. Alternately, all five crosses can symbolize the five wounds of Christ during the Passion.

The D shape veil measures 44" wide by 27" deep. This veil is fit with bridal loops so you can attach a comb to hold the veil in place, and safely remove it for storage without damaging the veil. Your veil will arrive in a premium quilted carry pouch with a separate pocket for your rosary and the comb, a, prayer card and floral sachet to keep your veil fresh.

This veil is usually made to order and may take 3-5 days to ship. I will make every effort to keep them in stock to ship immediately.

FAQs

I am happy to hear your requests for custom and personalized orders, but my ability to fulfill your request is dependent on the availability of the lace you request and the time available to me. Custom orders are final sale.
Almost every veil can be washed in your washing machine on gentle cycle. However, so you are more confident, it is easy to swish your veil in warm water with a few drops of detergent. This method is recommended for embroidered veils. It is recommended that you wash dark veils separately. Lay flat or hang to dry -- or use your home dryer on the air dry setting. You may also iron your veil on the coolest setting preferably using a cloth between the iron and the veil.
I stand by the quality of my veils. If any stitching ever comes loose from normal wear and tear*, you can send it back to me for repair. Just pay the postage to send it to me. I'll pay for the return trip.

*Normal wear and tear does not include tearing or poking a hole through the lace. That's why I send you a carrying pouch - so you can keep your veil safe.
