This is one of my favorite pieces. It was inspired by a pair of blue herons that live in a huge spruce tree near my house. I'm always captivated by their grace and stillness. I used watercolors to create the feathers and then used black ink to add contour lines and detail.
This piece comes without the frame. It is matted in a simple, white mat.

About the Artist:
Morgan’s paintings express her appreciation of the natural world with a simple intimacy that conveys quiet emotion and gentle strength. A versatile artist, her forte is animal portraits. Using watercolors, gouache and a variety of ink pens, she brings many forest creatures to life. Touched by the spiritual and symbolic nature of many animals, Morgan often focuses on one animal for many months at a time. Her work can be found throughout the city of Seattle, in small cafes and shops. When she isn’t in her backyard studio, she’s with her students or exploring the wilderness of the Cascade Mountains.

I love this print! It was packaged well so it came in perfect condition. I bought a frame and pre-cut matting and put it together to get a beautiful piece of art for my wall.
