Here I have a lovely lot of old (1975) chinese rice coupons from the Shanxi Province.

These are in fantastic uncirculated condition and you will receive a lot of 16 of these coupons.

There are 4 different designs (shown in the 2nd photo) and you will receive the following quantities:
5 x Purple
2 x Blue
4 x Red
5 x Green

<16 TOTAL>

The first pic is a scan and it has washed out the coupons quite abit including the patterened backgrounds. You can see this better in the second pic :)

They measure approx 8cm x 3.5cm but each one varies slightly

* A little about these courtesy of banknotes.com!
These food ration money coupons (rice coupons; grain coupons) allow the bearer to buy a certain amount/weight of rationed foodstuffs. Rationed foodstuffs included rice, flour and cooking oils. These coupons are called LIANGPIAO (grain and commodity ration coupons).

The average ration was 15 kilograms for a man and 13 kilograms for a woman each month, though it varied somewhat with age, profession and location.

These coupons were given per person, no matter how poor or rich that person was, therefore these food ration coupons (also known as: rice coupons) are much scarcer than Chinese Yuan banknotes.
