These little heart bowls are handmade from a speckled stoneware clay and glazed in a variety of yummy glazes. They are formed by hand from pinch pots - no potter's wheel for these babies! Making pinch pots is a slow but satisfying method for making small pots and usually the technique introduced in your first handbuilding class. You can literally feel in the walls of the bowl the touch of the potter's hand. (Okay, handbuilding was my first love!)

The glazes that I used on them are my spring green glaze (bright and glossy) sea mist (deep rich greeny blue), fog (grayish green) and a fabulous new glaze for me that is a shiny brownish shino color. I'm having lots of fun making sets of little heart bowls and combining my favorite glazes of the moment. I'm never sure which glazes I'm going to use on them and sometimes I'm surprised at which combos look good together!

They are about 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 inches wide across the top, about 5 inches long and about 1 3/4 inches tall.

Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln. Food safe - you might want to wash them by hand to show them some extra love and care!
