Great vintage find! This is a little Lane cedar hope chest replica.

Lane has been making furniture for decades, and one of their oldest lines is the Lane cedar chest. Young ladies used to buy a 'hope chest' to store what she'd need for her married life - linens, etc. Lane gave away these little chests to girls who were graduating high school. You simply went to the furniture store and picked yours up!

Each chest was labeled with the furniture store's name: this one came from J. J. Steinbaugh.

So many things to use this for!

9 inches long, 5 inches wide, 4 1/2 inches deep, and 4 inches tall.
