The cover of this book is a beautiful spring colour - sage green, with lovely woodcut style illustrations. It is an unusual Penguin classic . First published in 1942, during WWII to help people maximise their fruit production during a time of severe fresh food shortage, this copy was published in 1952 after several revisions. It covers not just fruit selection, planting and harvesting but also the art and science of how to produce good compost. Dotted with helpful llustrations.

I must mention the fact I love that it was written by Raymond Bush!

All vintage books are sold as is. Vintage books are not pristine new, they have their own smell and excitement on opening. They often contain messages inscribed on the flyleaf, lists, or bookmarks from previous owners (I leave these in for you to find, as I have done, and wonder about the person who left it there). Feel free to request additional information and/or photos. If you require tracking or insurance please mail me before ordering.

Thank you for stopping by BeauBazaar, hope to see you again.
