This is an exquisite example of Plume agate, set with a faceted honey yellow Citrine. The rich ambers, golden tones, and rust red colors of this piece give a very warm and regal feel to the piece. The main cabochon is a beautiful example of Plume agate, with a rectangular faceted yellow citrine mounted above the cabochon. Plume agate is a variety of chalcedony with inclusions of contrasting colors of plume-like or feather-like structures within the material. Citrine is a glassy yellow variety of quartz, ranging in color from pale to golden yellow, or honey yellow. The name comes the French word citron, meaning lemon. I set the Plume agate cabochon in a clean sterling silver flat bezel with a 24 gauge sterling sheet backing. The faceted Citrine is set in sterling silver prongs, below a sterling tube hanger for the necklace beads to run through. Sarah used multiple sterling silver spacer beads, and larger patterned triangular sterling beads to repeat the sparkle of the centerpiece. The beads pull out the rust reds, peach, and honey tones of the centerpiece. These beads include honeycomb onyx, faceted Citrine, Carnelian agate, red tiger's eye, Moukaite, cultured pearls, and Czech and Chinese glass. The sterling silver clasp is a hook and eye style. This piece is 20 1/2 inches long, and the pendant is 2 1/2 inches long, by 1 1/2 inches wide. The available earrings are 1 1/2 inches long, and include red jasper, Citrine, and sterling silver. This elegant piece will go well with a variety of colors in clothing, both formal and casual wear. Sure to become a family favorite!
