These are fun to throw even if only about one out of five survive. I have a high rate of loss on the wheel because I throw slightly off-center (The clay is perfectly centered then deliberately knocked off-center.) for movement and gesture and then pulled to extreme thinness (It is VERY important to keep the pitcher light so that it is easy to use even when full.)

A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glazes time to run and form small crystals, making the colors rich and deep. The handle curves to the left instead of being centered. Pours nicely. Holds about 9 cups of iced tea, lemonade, milk, kool-aid, beer, margaritas, etc... or a large bouquet of flowers. (The earthy colors of the pitcher complement the bright colors of flowers beautifully.)

Approximately 9 inches high and 6 inches wide not including the handle.

White stoneware fired to vitrification (would not leak even if it were unglazed) for strength and durability.

Food safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.

Gold and Green Iced Tea Pitcher 1 (stoneware pitcher, clay pitcher, flower vase, centerpiece)
