My favorite way to use this face scrub is to lightly apply and massage into face. And then I like to leave it on for a few extra minutes (like a face mask) to really let your skin soak up all of the nourishment! Then rinse with warm water and soap, and pat dry!


*Warning: can leave yellow residue/stain if left on too long due to the turmeric. I recommend washing with a natural, unscented soap after to avoid transferring stain or yellow residue to towels or other materials that will come into contact with your skin.

BREAKDOWN OF INGREDIENTS:

Sugar- A natural humectant, sugar draws moisture from the environment into the skin to help hydrate the skin and keep moisture within. It is also a natural source of glycolic acid that penetrates skin to break down the bond between dead skin cells, encouraging cell regeneration for fresher, younger looking skin. This is why sugar makes such a great exfoliant, to remove dead skin cells and reveal the glowing, healthy skin cells underneath. Also, great for the winter as exfoliating the top layer of skin helps moisturizers penetrate more deeply and hydrate longer.

Honey- Honey has antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is biologically active, has the ability to modulate the skin’s immune system, and promotes the healing of wounds and tissue repair. It has emollient, humectant, and soothing effects on the skin, keeping it looking young and toned. It can help to regulate ph, prevent infections, and inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes which is a cause of acne.

Cinnamon- Cinnamon has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antimicrobial properties. Research suggests it might have anti-aging properties as well.

Turmeric- Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antibacterial, and wound healing properties. *Can serve as contact allergen.

Nutmeg- Nutmeg is a stimulant and has a counterirritant effect on skin, increasing blood flow to the area. Helpful for eczema.
