Aw, such a sad little fella. He is waiting for a new home, maybe a headful of cookies? He even has his bamboo woven handle intact. There is a tiny gold stamp on the bottom that says Japan, and a number is stamped onto the clay, '10052'.
He is 5 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches in diameter. This is a small jar that is called a biscuit jar.

Condition is good, no repairs, but does have alot of factory things like lumps of clay, stray glazes. The hat has a chip and a couple of hairlines on top that go all the way through, but it doesn't seem to be affecting it now and doesn't really show. The jar itself has a lot of crazing, typical of this type and age of pottery.
