1950s Wm. R. Johnson Canada Goose Printed Cardboard Decoy, Vintage Hunting Decoy, Goose Decoy, Geese Decoy
Vintage from the 1950s
Materials: metal, fiberboard, parrafin, ink
We came across a collection of these awesome circa 1950s, printed/waxed cardboard Canada Goose hunting decoys. They are great for wall, shelf or table display or can be used as yard art with the optional metal stake. These life-size decoys were made by Wm. R. Johnson of Seattle, Washington. They are each made out of thick cardboard, litho printed with the image of a Canada Goose and covered with wax added for protection from the elements. The decoy measures 21.5" across and stand 19" tall with the neck fully erect; the goose's body is 9.5" high (note that the feeding goose version is 9.5" tall X 32.5" long with neck extended horizontally). They were designed to fold flat for compact storage and transport, the head and neck swivel back into the body. A triangle-shaped piece of heavy cardboard that will hold the decoy open (see photo) is included at no charge. Note the we are selling these decoys individually--select the style(s), either upright or feeding from options available.
OPTIONAL GROUND STAKE- These decoys are designed to be deployed in the field with a special 16" long metal stake with a steel plate that attaches inside to for a 3D presentation however we only have limited supply of the metal stakes and they are available for an additional price.
We have several of these available and they are all in similar condition to the ones shown in the photos with some edge wear, scuffs, scratches and light soiling but still structurally sound and free of major damage.
