Rock Terrain Set Hand Painted Wargame Terrain And Scenery

Modular/Stackable wargame, or tabletop game rock terrain sets, fully hand painted and ready for the table. Create some quick easy rocky terrain for tactical combat in your 40k, Dungeons and Dragons, Age of Sigmar, kill team, warhammer and similar table top games. Ideally suited and sized for use with 28 mm (or 32 mm) miniatures. Available in different sizes and colour schemes.

Each rock in the small/large set is approximately 5 cm in height. The rocks in the large set can be stacked together to make 10 cm tall obstacles.

Colors

Grey rocks: basic grey rocks flocked with grass patches

Grey rocks (wastelands): basic grey rocks (no grass/flocking, ideal for a desolate/dead world)

Desert / Clay rocks: brown / clay rocks flocked with dead / dried out grasses. Great for a desert canyon or alien world.

Martian red: this reddish colour scheme fits in well with your cults of mars, Admech armies home world of mars.

Custom colours and paint schemes are available on request.

What's included.

Large stackable rocks (2x large and 1x small): each large rock starts with a foam block measuring 14 cm x 16 cm, so the final size is just under this. Each rock is hand carved so exact style, features and size varies per rock. These rocks are flat topped and designed to be stacked allowing rocks ranging from 5 cm to 15 cm in height (3 pieces).

Small rock set: 3 x small rocks cut from blocks approximately 5 cm tall. Each rock has is hand cut and varies between 4 and 6 cm in width/length.

Tall obscuring rock: comes with 1 large/tall rock roughly 14cm in height x 20 cm x 10 cm (1 piece).

How are these made

Sheets of large 5cm thick foam are sliced up in blocks, which are then hand carved with a hot wire cutter. These rough carvings are coated with a mixture of wood filler, PVA glue, black gesso and gravel. Once dried this makes a tough, resistant shell and adds texture to the rocks. Each rock is then panted in either grey, grey or mars red before being dry brushed and flocked (for the grey rocks only). Once finished they are sprayed with a mixture of water and varnish to protect the outer shell.
