Lovely set of four (4) brown transferware teacups and saucers in the Fair Winds pattern by Alfred Meakin, England. PLEASE NOTE: There are five sets pictured, but one of the cups has a small chip on the rim. We are including that set for decor purposes free of charge.

We believe this pattern dates to the 1970s and features scenes of 19th century Americana, including New York Harbor in 1830, the New York State Seal, and a scene entitled "Sailor's Farewell" with tall ships in the background. The cups are marked with an incised "England 821" and the saucers are stamped with "Fair Winds, Permanent Colors, Made by Alfred Meakin, Staffordshire, England."

MEASUREMENTS:
Saucers: 5 1/2 in.
Cups: 3 3/8 in.; Capacity: 6 oz.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with no damage or discoloration.

A NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE: Everything we sell at AlegriaCollection is vintage, meaning that it's at least 20 years old, often much older. Consequently, most of our items show evidence of previous use and, in general, this is viewed as adding to the aged character of a piece. We make every effort to accurately describe any flaws and encourage you to carefully read the description, particularly when purchasing vintage as a gift.
