Nature’s Imperfections
___________________________

Aside from the description of the color, this is a natural product and each belt will vary in color and thickness. At Carmine Jack Leather Co we celebrate the natural imperfections that make each belt unique. Your belt may include bug bites, scrapes, scratches, scars, or fat wrinkles; all of which help tell the story of the life of the beautiful animal that provided us this incredible material. The thickness of our belts can vary from 4.5mm to 6.5mm and some belts may experience such a thickness change from one end of the belt to the next. There has yet to be a cow alive that has perfectly consistently thick skin, therefore leather is going to vary some in thickness. Oak Bark Leather is hand stained at the tannery and as such there will be variations in the color and finish from one belt to the next. Combine that with the color differences that occur between each computer monitor or device, Carmine Jack Leather Co cannot guarantee the color of each belt will match the photo provided in our shop.

Our Leather

Oak Bark Harness leather has a firm temper, is hard wearing, yet remains incredibly supple. If you are looking for a thin, flimsy, reversible belt, then our belts are not for you. Oak Bark Leather belts will require a break-in period. As you use the belt, and your body naturally heats up the leather, the fibers will begin to loose yet remain incredibly durable. Full grain leather shows not only the life of the animal if came from, but tells the story of its new owner. Enjoy this period of time as you scribe your story into this beautiful blank leather canvas.

The Last Remaining Oak Bark Tannery
__________________________

J&FJ Baker has been tanning leather using traditional English oak bark since the Roman times, and have been at their current location for the past 600 years. Their Oak Bark Leather is tanned for 12 months in pits containing oak bark and local river water. The ultra slow 12 month English Oak Bark tanning process means the leather doesn’t swell up during tanning ensuring the fibers maintain natural alignment. This translates into a high tensile strength leather that is ideal for tough belts that will last. The leather has a firm temper yet remains incredibly supple. As the leather breaks in the suppleness increased along with the durability. Using traditional Currier methods and time honored traditions, each hide is hand stained and curried using generations old color recipes and dubbin.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES ON BELTS
___________________________

Due to the custom nature of our belts, there are no returns or exchanges accepted. That being said, we stand behind the craftsmanship and materials we work with. Carmine Jack Leather Co offers a Craftsmanship Guarantee. In the event of an issue arising due to the craftsmanship of this belt, please contact us immediately. You may be asked to provide photos in the event of craftsmanship issue. Full grain leather comes from an animal that was once living, breathing, and walking this earth. During its time on our fair planet it interacted with its environment. It may have gained some weight through its life, tackled a pile of barbed wire, was on the losing end of a pair of long horns, and a multitude of other situations that may lead to scars, scratches, bite marks, scrapes, and fat wrinkles appearing on the leather. Carmine Jack Leather Company views these variations in the leathers as badges of honor and celebrates the uniqueness that this provides every belt we produce. We do not view these as negative marks against the materials being used and do not consider them to be grounds for a Craftsmanship Guarantee return. Such imperfections will not affect the strength and durability of the leather.
