I made this teapot on the wheel. The teapot is made in four sections; the pot, the spout and the lid are thrown on the wheel separately. After the clay sets up enough to be handled without caving in, I put the pieces together. The handle is formed and attached last. I'm always tense when making teapots because there are so many critical steps and if your blow one step, you're back to the drawing board.

I am very happy with this pot. It has little holes like a sieve to keep some of the loose tea leafs out of your cup. It also has a scalloped edge between the bowl and the spout and the same scalloped decoration around the foot at the bottom and on top of the lid to match.

The tea pot is 5 inches tall and 8 inches wide from spout to the handle. It will easily hold 2 cups or 16 ounces. The cups are 2 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter at the top and the sit up on a lovely rounded foot. Each holds 1/4 cup or 2 ounces.

I forgot to sign and date the teapot, but I really did make it!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Drink tea in style!
