Vintage from the 1970s

Italian design at its best! Designed in 1969 by Ettore Sottsass and Perry A. King, the Valentine quickly became a design hit, with color options of Red, White, Blue and Green. This masterpiece is on the permanent exhibition of the MoMA, having won many design awards.
This rare QWERTY unit has the Serial Number 6911166, dating it at early 70’s. It has a very distinct design, with a white finish, and details in black and chrome. Typeface pitch is 12 cpi, which is more difficult to find then the usual 10 cpi.

| Condition |
Technically, the machine is perfect. It is lightweight, with a nice Olivetti engineering inside. It was serviced and works without flaws. It was chemically cleaned inside out, mechanically tested and adjusted.

Cosmetically, the typewriter is in excellent shape. It has no rust on metallic parts, and plastics are without cracks or missing parts. It has a tiny dent near the line space lever, as most Valentines have. Chromes are shinning, no dents or rust. The logo is perfect.

It has the original hard ABS case, which is also in very good condition, with no cracks. Case lock and handle are functional and stable.

| Remarks |
Please note that the typewriter has the original QWERTY keyboard - no resoldering! This is much rare than the QWERTZ or AZERTY one. Please check the typeface specimen on the last photo.

Exactly as described and shown in photos. My Tessy arrived, double boxed and packed extremely safely. Even with COVID delays and traveling halfway across the world, my typewriter arrived within about a month, and I could not be more impressed. TypeBarVintage is the place to look for your vintage typewriters. Rogerio was friendly and professional. Other companies should learn and aspire to be this good. Thank you again, Rog!

The Torpedo was exactly as described-in excellent condition and packed with great care: double-boxed with layers of bubble wrap. The carriage was completely immobilized. Rogerio was extremely helpful and patient through multiple emails. He swapped out Y and Z for nominal extra charge. Highly recommended.

The packaging was perfect: my little typewriter flew across the world, traveled from one city to another and finally arrived in perfect condition on my doorstep. Thank you for taking care of this little piece of history and creativity!!
