The centerpiece pendant of this necklace consists of two amazing pieces of Ocean jasper revealing the wide range of colors in which it occurs. The top polished cabochon is primarily a deep olive green with hints of beige and peach, and the larger bottom stone is primarily peaches and beige, with hints of the olive. This is an orbicular jasper found only in northern Madagascar. It is a rhyolitic igneous rock, rich in silica. As the lava cooled, the silica formed into spherical shapes. I set these two amazing stones with a serrated sterling silver bezel, and backed them with 24 gauge sterling sheet. I formed the hanger with a V-cut sterling silver tube coiled with half round sterling silver. Sarah then ran the beads through the hanger, pulling out the peach, beige and olive colors of the Ocean jaspers. These beads include Ocean jasper leaves, tubes, and small rectangles. Other beads used are fossil agate, cultured pearls, peach Aventurine, moss agate, green serpentine, and Czech glass. There are multiple sterling silver spacer beads, and large sterling focal beads in a rectangular shape, adding to the silver sparkle of the necklace. The hook and loop style clasp is also sterling silver. This piece is 20 1/2 inches long. The centerpiece pendant measures 2 1/2 inches high, by 1 1/4 inches wide. This is truly an amazing set of stones, and due to the variety in colors, it will go well with a wide range of colors in clothing. This will sure to be a great attention getter!
