Stone: Shaped and polished piece of Natural Amber.

Dimensions of pendant: 42mm(1.68")x 20mm(0.8")x 9mm(0.36").

Beautiful piece of Natural Amber from the Baltic Seacoast of Poland. 12.4cts weight of it, and since Amber is such a lightweigh material that's a nice sized piece for a pendant. It has a bit of inclusionary plant material in the stone, but most of it is lovely, clarified deep golden coloured Amber such as is typical of the Baltic Amber type. There's some natural flaws at these inclusion points within that give it a bit of sparkle too. It's dated from the Oligiocene Epoch which was some 34-24 million years ago. There are heaps of fakes of Natural Amber floating about, some are Copal Amber which is material that's too young to be the real stuff, and some are created material from apoxy resins. This particular piece I repaired and recycled however, and the pine scent as I reshaped and finished the part of the stone that had broken away from its original glue/screw setting was a dead give away to its authenticity. I've worked with the material before, and experts reckon the pine scent when it's scorched or sanded is the tell-tale of authentic Baltic Amber. Not everyone is prepared to deface their piece of Amber to find that out though! The wire is 14kt gold fill wire, meaning a sleeve of 14kt gold has been filled with copper. The process produces a much thicker layer of gold than mere electroplating. Full gold wire is not as strong, and far too prohibitively expensive for me to offer. The wrap and bail are in yellow gold, with the neck of the bail and the swirly bit in rose gold.

Amber is thought to have strong connections with the earth and to be a grounding stone for higher energies. It is also thought to be a powerful healer and cleanser that draws toxins and negative energies from the body and promotes tissue revitalisation. Meant to clean the environment and the chakras too. Does this by absorbing the negative energies and transmuting them into positive energies that stimulate the body to heal itself. Amber is also thought to be a powerful protector, and to link the everyday self to the higher spiritual reality. On non-healing levels, Amber is believed to bring stability to life. Meant to help to achieve a warm and sunny disposition with it's warm, bright energies, and also to help counteract depression or suicidal tendencies. Amber is also thought to stimulate the intellect and promote a positive mental state, and creative self-expression. It's said to bring balance and patience, and has been used as a memory aid. It's believed to encourage peacefulness and develop trust as well. Also believed to promote altruism and bring wisdom.
Healing lore says that Amber is a powerful chakra cleanser and healer. Absorbs pain and negative energy, allowing the body to rebalance and heal itself. Alleviates stress. Helps with goiters and other throat conditions. Stomach conditions, spleen, kidneys, bladder, liver, and gallbladder, alleviates joint problems, and strengthens the mucus membranes. Amber is also thought to stimulate the sacral chakra and help to ground energies into the body.
