This is the ultimate do-it-yourself eco-friendly wedding place card. I can make tented place cards that stand up or you can have flat cards that are inserted into a stand or have strings attached to hang to an object. (See photos for a variety of examples that I have made for other brides and grooms. I can make whatever you can dream up!)

2.25 x 2.75 inches are 30 cents each
4.25 x 2.75 inches (if folded into a tented card: 2.25 x 2.75) are 60 cents each
4.25 x 5.5 inches (if folded into a tented card: 4.25 x 2.75) are $1.20 each

Any of these pieces can have a hole and a piece of string added for no extra charge. The smallest size (2.25 x 2.75) can be tucked into a small white envelope. I have had brides use the strings to attach tags and cards to trees, to a small favor bag as well as other creative displays.

I make my handmade paper by recycling all kinds of high-quality paper that would otherwise end up in a landfill. (Thanks to Etsy seller Cindy of www.cutcardstock.com for all of the wonderful scraps that she sends my way!) By filling a vat with pulp and pulling each sheet of paper one at a time, I make paper the way it has been made since the Chinese invented this method centuries ago. I love that I am giving new life to recycled paper for the start of a couple's new life together.

You can choose handmade paper that has scent, like patchouli leaves or mint, for instance; I can add inclusions to the handmade paper that hold meaning to you (like bits of yarn or string for a bride who loves to weave or knit); the color of the paper can be customized to your favorite colors or the colors in your wedding. You can even supply me with the paper - like old love letters - that I will shred and make into new paper for your invitations.

This paper can be planted so that you, your family and guests can remember your wedding every time they look at their garden. Each order comes with one copy of the following poem that you are welcome to photocopy:

In this paper, little seeds lay asleep,
Waiting to be planted in soil 1/4 inch deep.
Water well then keep moist for 4 to 6 weeks.
Until little plants come out of the soil for a peek.
Many flowers will share their colors to the max.
Like baby blue eyes, purple cone flower and blue flax!

I make my handmade paper using recycled paper and 27 wildflower seeds: 16 annuals for first-year color, plus 11 perennials or biennials for second and successive years' bloom. Convo me for a full list of the seeds but here’s a little taste: Nigella damascena (Love In A Mist), Silene armeria (Catchfly). Cosmos bipinnatus (Wild Cosmos), Papaver rhoeas (Red Poppy), Helianthus annuus (Sunflower), Linum grandiflorum rubrum (Scarlet Flax), Dianthus barbatus (Sweet William) and Echinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower). These seeds will happily bloom from the northeast to the southwest.

Take a look at the last photo to see a sample of the plantable paper that is growing on my window sill!
