Panasonic made several futuristic radios in the 1970's, but perhaps the most famous portable transistor radio from the time was the Panapet 70. It was round and came in a variety of colors. They were visually a major departure from the plain rectangular boxes other radios were housed in at the time.

However, while fun to look at it was not very practical, since it didn't fit in a pocket and had to be carried around by a ring on the end of a chain (yet that doesn't seem to have affected its popularity then or now).

This one is bright blue, with some signs of wear. About 4.5 inches in diameter.
