I decided my ladies and little girl Sylvanians did not have as many pretty clothes as their male friends, so I designed these dresses to fit average-sized mothers and daughters in the Sylvanian (UK © acknowledged Flair Ltd), Forest Families and Calico Critters families. As a guide to size, the little 'daughter' dolls are approximately 2.5 inches tall and their 'mothers' are about 3 inches tall. You are purchasing a pdf pattern only. If you require a set of dolls please contact me for a special listing.

Their gorgeous full skirts decorated with traditional lace and other decorative stitches will delight collectors and young children alike. I design my dresses with open backs to accommodate tails of all sizes but feel free to sew up the bottom half of the skirts. Mother’s Snow White style dress (top right) has a delicate white petticoat underneath, attached to the dress at the waist. The green lacy dress has integral sleeves, avoiding seams, to my own unique design.

YARN: For the green frock on the left, you need 2ply lace weight yarn and size 2mm (UK size 14) needles, which are all available through high street wool shops. The larger ‘Mary Quant’ dress and shorter A-line dress are knitted with sock yarn (4ply fingering) and a pair of size 2mm needles, while the remaining ‘Snow White’ design requires fine needles size 1.75mm and small balls of two colours of fine 1 ply in any combination of wool or acrylic. Its knitted-in petticoat requires a few yards of strands pulled from a skein of white embroidery or similar soft thread. The smaller ‘Mary Quant’ design at the front is knitted in lace-weight yarn.
The picture shows how just a little added embroidery can enhance a dress, to make these outfits even more attractive.
Try to resist knitting these lovely dresses! Little girls will love them, and so will adult collectors.
