This unique school globe seems ordinary at first.
It stands about 16" tall and has a nice dark gray metal base.
The stand and the metal hardware are heavy duty.

As far as age - well - I have 6 globes of all different makes and this one - the age eludes me. Mostly because the entire globe is in Japanese.

That would be the twist.

Usually it's rather easy to date a globe using the borders and names of countries, both of which are usually a giveaway to the date. But with this one - well - the only clue is that the base is not flimsy and the globe is not made with chintzy hardware as is often the case with later globes. The base has that marbled industrial gray metal look to it - common on fans from the 1930's to about 1960.

I hesitate to give it a range - lest it be misleading - but I'd feel safe saying it is 1960's or older.

The colors on this globe are very vibrant but not too colorful - it's done in blue, yellow, white and green with a one spot of pink - (Japan)
The condition is very good vintage condition with one 1/4" spot off the coast of Africa that is missing some blue and one small spot in Algeria that has some loss.

So I offer you a Vintage Japanese School Globe.
If you can add to this listing by deciphering something helpful - I'll gladly amend it.

Thanks for looking! :-)
