Item details

Perennial - Zones 4 to 8

* Seeds per package - 25
* Bloom Time - June - July
* Bloom Color - Rich pink with white center.
* Size - 24-30" x 24"
* Culture - Full sun, medium-low to low moisture. Cutting the foliage back by half after blooming is complete encourages repeat bloom, neatens up the foliage and reduces self-sowing.
* Characteristics - Bees delight in the flowers; goldfinches adore the seeds. The birds must be messy eaters, though, because the plants can self-sow aggressively. Unwanted seedlings are easily moved or removed with a dandelion digger.
* Special Features - Very drought-tolerant in Cheyenne. Blooms and reblooms without supplemental watering. The plants regrow fresh, ferny foliage if the leaves are cut back after flowering.
* Germination - Sow 1/4-1/2" deep germinate at room temperature.
