One of the meanings of the name KEI ("kay") is "celebrate." Which is something she would like to do when she gets to go to a permanent home - yours! KEI's red kimono is has a heart of a deeper shade of red, her hair black and wispy around her face and on top of her head is a black bead with a wax cotton cord.

keep her with you in different ways -

• as a purse charm
• cellphone charm
• beltloop charm
• zipper charm
• on the rearview mirror
• ornament to hang just about anywhere

Face and hair carefully handpainted and with several varnishes to the entire charm, but try to keep her out of water ;-)

doll size: approx. 2" tall
total length with cord: approx. 7 1/2" long

as cute as she is, she is not a toy, so keep her away little children and babies.

************A SHORT HISTORY OF KOKESHI DOLLS*************
Dating back to the latter part of the Edo Era (1603-1867), true Japanese kokeshi dolls are done by wood-turning artisans with years of experience, using seasoned wood. The dolls had a spiritual significance representing a wish for a healthy child. Kokeshi dolls are generally bought as mementos, but they are also seen as lucky charms!
